If only there was a way to travel back in time

If only there was a way to make you forever mine

If only there was a word that says I love you more

If only there was not a time when you walked out the door

But a life full of regrets is a life lived looking back

A life full of regrets is a life lived out of whack

A life full of regrets is a life without much meaning

A life full of regrets is a life without much seeing

So I will live my life without any more “If only…”

I will live my life without pondering why I’m lonely

I will live my life without pining over days I’ve lost

I will live my life without having paid so great a cost

For the cost of living all my life living ever in the past

Is a life where what is happening happens all too fast

For when we live out this great life saying every day, “If only…”

We tend to miss out on so much besides just being lonely

So when you say, “If only…” please recall this simple rhyme

And think about a better way to invest all of your time.

So I will not say, “If only…” for it just causes me much strife

I will be present in this time so I can live a greater life.
