The Quiet Deaths
“HANA!” The guards of the kingdom called to her urgently.
“Yes?”she said while turning around after looking at something at the stand in the town’s market.
“COME TO THE CASTLE, QUICK!” One of them shouted.
As Hana followed behind them she started worrying about what could possibly be wrong, could someone be hurt, horribly sick, or worse. She couldn’t possibly know until she got there. Hana was the towns healer, though she was an elf and not a human the town’s people still accepted her and she was greatfull for that, except that she had to deal with horrible injuries and sicknesses throughout the village and was absolutely devastated when she didn’t know whether she could really save them or not, but thankfully she always had saved them, but she was just about to find out that all of it was really a lie, that none of it was true, that she was never healing them in the first place.
When they got to the castle she bowed and stood up quickly, when she stood up she noticed someone lying on a table right beside to the king and queen’s thrones. She had covered her mouth in horror and dispare with wide eyes. This human was covered in blood looking as though they were dead, but she could still see them breathing in and out slowly. What could have possibly happened could she have prevented this, were they ok.
“Wha-what happened to them” she said in shock to the king and queen.
“He is… dying” the queen said slowly and quietly with sadness in her eyes and voice.
“WHAT HOW!” Shouted Hana “HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIX THIS! THEIR TO HURT, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO D-“ she started
“You will not be doing anything” she said
“WHAT WHY, I CAN’T JUST SIT HEAR AND LET HIM DIE” she shouted at the queen.
“Because you were the cause of this” said the king slowly.
“Wha-what d-do you mean “I was the cause of this”, why would I ever do that.”
“You wouldn’t, and we know that.” The king said calmly.
“Then why did you say I did it when you know I would never do something like this?”
“ you did it with your powers” he said to her.
