POEM STARTER

Submitted by Margaret Sok

Write a poem or story around the theme of 'Lonely Together.'

Lonely Souls

They say misery loves company

That two souls tired to their bones

Still prefer not to be alone

When a morning stretch

Sounds more like a morning creak

The path towards home still has

Four, instead of two, feet

Skin scorching under the merciless sun

And the day has barely just begun

It’s better when ten fingers innertwine

The feel of another heart beat surviving

Right next to mine

Strung up high in the midnight sky

The moon dances through the windows

Sleep chases me and my eyes comply

So long as you lie next to me, kissing me good night
