It was a dark and stormy night, and Emily and Tom were driving down a deserted road. Suddenly, their car hit a pothole and they were forced to pull over to the side of the road.

As they stepped out of the car, they heard a strange noise coming from the nearby woods. Emily's heart began to race with fear, but Tom laughed it off, telling her it was probably just an animal.

But as they made their way towards the woods, they could see something moving in the shadows. Emily's fear turned to terror, but Tom remained calm, insisting that it was nothing to worry about.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the trees, its eyes glowing in the darkness. Emily screamed in terror, but Tom simply laughed, telling her it was just a prankster in a costume.

But as the figure got closer, Tom's laughter turned to screams of terror. The figure was no prankster, but a terrifying monster that had been stalking them all along.

Emily and Tom's emotions could not have been more different in that moment. Emily was already scared, but Tom's initial dismissal of the danger made his eventual terror all the more intense.
