POEM STARTER

Write a poem with the title 'Life Lessons from Death'.

Consider what Death might want to impart on those who can experience living, and the voice that Death might speak from.

A Life Lesson from Death

When death stares at you in the face,

it could go one of two ways.

Either I let you live with me,

or you stay in world where everyone can see.

People ask, “How do you choose?"

How do you know who loses and who becomes the muse?

Well, it’s quite simple, really.

Death is for those who have lived,

and life is for those who haven’t.

People call me cruel, evil,

a bloody murderer with trillions of kills.

They ask, “why not give everyone life?

Why do some people receive everything

and others receive nothing?”

Well my friends, everything sounds unfair when measured by the wrong things.

Those who leave are willing;

time is fickle, relative, unlingering

Meaning, however,

is forever.

And that’s how—

if you’re gone, just know,

when you go,

you have something no one else

has ever felt.

Purpose.
