POEM STARTER
Write a poem about pet peeves.
Little things that annoy you – perhaps they are stand-ins for bigger problems, perhaps they are nothing more.
Pet Peeves
Tiny little offs
That throw me off course
The train curves off the track
But no one holds remorse
Too small for a change
Too large for them to see
I sit here stuck
With my pet-peeve
The tapping of a shoe
The feeling of nails
The taste in my tounge
The sloshing of water pails
They make me shiver
Cold down my spine
If only I wasn’t so bothered
And could finally recline
I want to recoil
Go back into the earth
But above the soil
Is hard rocks over the dirt
I shiver and shake
But push myself along
Such a small mistake
Can make it all turn wrong
