Maggie
It's a brisk 60° morning, the trees are changing from the green tones of summer to the rusty reds, oranges, and yellows of fall. The walk to the hospital is always the most rewarding this time of year. The autumn breeze blows Maggie's chocolate brown hair, the end of summer has come, marking the change of atmosphere. People can walk around without being drenched from the heat and humidity that is common in the south. Everyone who walks by speaks, saying, “Hello”, “good afternoon”, “it’s a beautiful day today.” It’s just one of those things down here, people are nice. They speak, say hello even to a total stranger. It makes this city feel smaller than it is, as if everyone here has known everyone for years. Maggie continues to stroll along the tree covered sidewalks heading up to Canton hospital, She takes in the sweet sounds of children playing in the park, dogs barking as they are taken on their daily walks, and the chatter of happy people. Her mind is so wrapped up in imagining everyone's lives as she walks past them she almost walks right past the door to the hospital.
