Down In The Valley
With the grace of a corpse,
In a riptide,
Instead of thrashing, gasping, grasping at anything to survive,
I let go
And I find,
I slide
Down a river
Not in fear,
Everything moves,
No might can fight,
Nature can never lose
As I float through the valleys
Made by the monstrous mountains,
I’m carried by a peaceful mind
Until the river dries
I never realized
Death is what is meant
To make it on your own
Because there is no rose
Where there are no thorns
Because there are no peaks
Where there are no bleak creeks
And there is no love
On the one true path
Because you are all that you have,
Understanding starts,
When you trust your tracks
And I’ve crawled and clawed to get lost,
But now embracing my cracks
I’m galloping back
There is no one moment of truth,
Down in the valley
Darkness provides clarity,
That existence itself is polarity
A fact you can’t fight,
Embrace the darkness of night
Nature will always be right
Each day is known
When the sun puts on a show
So I strive
To live like the sun
Because the warmth and the bright,
Always comes
Through every cloud
Over any heights
After any storm,
The dawn always brings light
And the sun does not harp
On the past
As a new day has begun
Yesterday is set and done
And although all the pain,
From previous eons, seconds, days,
Still remains
The sun still shines
And if it does,
So do I
