Time
I couldn't tell at first if I was awake or asleep. Or maybe even dead. My body was numb and I couldn't open my eyes, but the heavy sound of rain echoed through my senses.
"It's time to come outside."
A raspy voice lingered in my brain, I knew the voice wasn't there, but I could feel it. Blue, black, and flashes of red took over the screen behind my eyes, and despair stole my breath. Then I opened my eyes. I was in my bed, looking up at my ceiling. The electric blue flashes of lightning ignited my room every few seconds and I heard the voice again.
"It's time."
With my body quivering, I approached my open window and looked down feeling only brief horror. The creature stood in the street, staring up at me with white emotionless eyes, the rain cascading off it's umbrella and splashing onto the concrete at its boney, bare feet. It outstretched its arm, uncurling it's finger until it was pointing at me.
Then there was nothing.
Nothing at all.
I was nothing.
Was I ever even here?
