Together
You, me, we,
Not alone but together,
Y’all, us, everyone,
Continually pushed together,
Differences and difficulties,
Blocks and Shops,
Culture and Religion,
More than you could imagine,
The city crammed full,
The country dispersed,
We make an entire verse.
Souls are like a poem,
Many lines make the rhyme,
It can be intertwined,
Or even flow alone,
But when brought together,
By a common theme,
Things can be more than they seem.
Our souls continually seek,
Others we think are mild and meek,
To raise each other up,
To help fill another’s cup,
What truly do our souls know?
The answers we must find,
Instead of lagging behind,
Find the truth behind our purpose,
And learn to love another.
Linked together via one simple truth,
Our souls are all connected,
No matter where you come from,
Regardless of how you look,
We all descend from the same book,
Fighting all the usual crooks,
So focused on how another looks,
Release each other from this prison,
Pull the divide from the chasm,
Then truly we shall see,
There’s no difference between you and me.
