we are in a dark time

a gloomy, scary, and troubling time

hope has seemed to have been sucked out of the world through a vacuum

and yet

spring has not broken it’s promise

it has shown up

the weather has started to shift

the flowers have begun to bloom

the sky has started to turn to blue

and the sun has begun to shine down on what seems like an endlessly dark world

bringing hope and light with every ray of sun

a reminder to all of us that darkness doesn’t have to last forever
