DARKNESS
I lay in bed, looking at the celling. I look to my left, I look to my right, fearing that something is going to eat me. I’ve always had this fear if the dark, it feels like an endless pit that just sits in my stomach and it aches when I get into the dark. I decided I was kind of hungry so I nervously rolled out of bed and creeper down the stairs, I jumped every time I heard a creak from the stairs, * creakkkkkkkkk* I gasped and nearly fell down the stairs. Finally I made it to the kitchen, I let out a sigh of relief. I go to open the fridge and this bright beam of light shot right into my eyes, I shook it off and continued rummaging through the fridge, I spot delicious fried chicken and best of all ITS COLD!!! Yummy. I grab the bag of chicken, close the door to the fridge and turn around to see something staring me right in the eyes, I dropped my chicken wings and my heart was pounding so hard I could feel it in every limb, the figure smirked at me and said “ midnight snack huh?” The figure said in a deep voice, “ I-I was up late...” I said with a quiet voice. The figure grabbed me covering my mouth, he dragged me into the backyard and said that he was going to make me just like him. Thankfully, I grabbed a knife from the kitchen, right before he dragged me away, the creature was about to go and grab some things to kill me with, right when he turned around I stabbed him in the back of the head, he rolled over whispering something no person should have to hear, I whispered back “ I’m not scared anymore”. I got up and left him there to die. The moral of the story is, people aren’t scared OF being alone in the dark, but they are scared of NOT being alone in the dark....
