How can I tell her?
My stomach screams at me, my heart cries out at me, and my voice drifts silently. My shaky phone stares at me, words blurry by tears. They slowly repeat through my mind, dreadfully tearing at my soul.

How can I tell her?
How can I share such gut wrentching words to such a young and innocent soul? How can I simply just hold her hand when it is shaking with grief?
How can I tell her it's alright when my heart knows it's nothing of the sort? How can I comfort her when no bed or feathers will soothe her storm? How can I try to relate, knowing my words to her will just falter?
But I will try be the tree that holds her wind. I will try to have the gentle hands to pull out the thorns. And I will try to be the moon that tucks her sorrow beneath its light.
