Is this just the result of a catchy tune, is there something deeper going on, or is it a sign of something they don't understand yet?

Why Can’t It Stop?

It wouldn’t stop. The damn song. It kept playing and playing and playing over in her head. Why can’t it stop? What can she do to make it stop? It was there, creeping up her skull. Until. It finally calmed. It soothed out of her ears. And she realized she threw a book at her assistant manager’s head.
