As I watched my home burn to the ground

As I felt the tears burn my cheeks

As I held my mothers hand so tight

I sat and I watched.

For a long time I watched and

Then ….I became numb.

The flames started to look so beautiful

I was so mesmerized

Through my tear filled eyes ,

I made a decision to let go

Let go of my mothers hand

And decided to leave it all behind.
