POEM STARTER
Write a poem with the title ‘Clear as Crystal’.
Images of clarity and purity are often associated with religious or romantic writing. You may follow tradition, or perhaps you could invert this imagery.
You Left Me.
I thought our love was crystal clear
You were the one I needed near
But I was wrong, cause you’re not here
You left me but you took your beer.
I thought our love would last infinity
Thought I was for you and you were for me
But now it’s easy for me to see
You left me but you took your keys.
I thought our love was like something you’d read
With a suit for you and a gown for me
I thought we’d dance and twirl, so dizzy
But you left me and took my happy ending.
I thought that you would love me to the worlds end
Thought our love was perfect, turns out it’s bent
I thought you were a gift from God, but your not Heaven sent
You left me here without consent.
