Write a story about a plane journey, set in times when flights had just become commercially available.
You could choose to create an atmosphere of excitement, fear and trepidation, or anything else you can imagine early passengers would feel!
The Wind That Unleashed Me
I watch the clouds as they smear against the pale blue sky like white oil paints
Twilight is obscured by the heavy mist that hangs like a silver halo
The moon streaks hues of glimmering gray onto my window
As the plane gently glides through the cool night air
I watch as my home beneath me is swallowed by the heavy distance
And a luminously drawn horizon

Out
Before
Me
And my soul breaks free, soaring alongside the narrow wings of the plane
A surge of freedom sweeps over me
And joy is what blooms the tears into my eyes
As they
