Sometimes Love Is Blind
They say forgiveness is a virtue, but I’d rather keep my anger.
You once traced my skin whispering sweet nothings.
Why bother if you never loved me.
You rose me up to tear me down.
Screaming cursing me dead, telling me all I did wrong, with no explanation.
You hit and clawed my once pristine skin, leaving bruises and marks behind.
You raped me if my purity, whispering through gritted teeth it was me all along.
Why should I apologize for something I never did, I never asked anything of you.
All I wanted was a friend.
