I’ll Be Waiting

You’re gone

I wish you hadn’t left like that

I’ll miss you, I’ll miss how you made me feel

I’ll move on

Living my life like you never existed

My subconscious, however, is full of you

Your glow, your eyes, your laugh

Oh your sweet sweet laugh

Physically, I’ve moved past you

Mentally, I’m still grieving

Hoping, dreaming, praying

Waiting for your return

Nicely done, Steven. A short poem, but it really captured the contradicting turmoil of trying to look brave on the outside but feeling in pain within.

It would have been good to explore this using metaphors too. Just as another creative way to express the emotion.
