POEM STARTER
Submitted by Maya
Write a haiku about your day.
Haiku: unrhymed poetic form consisting of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively.
Turbulence
Words travel quickly,
Through your ears like speeding trains,
A silent journey.
Sometimes I wonder,
If I’m speaking to a ghost.
Or am I the ghost?
Shadows of distance,
Lurking closer by the day,
Quietly, I weep.
Words hang in the air,
Unseen threads that bind us still,
Who will cut them first?
In this sudden space,
Memories, like dying plants,
Thirsty for your sun.
Two souls drift at sea,
Navigating turbulence,
Yearning for the shore.
