Wired For Love
I know a narcissist when I see one,
But that’s never been enough to make me walk away.
Hell hath no fury like an empath who believes love can mend what’s broken.
I’ve seen the damage, felt the voltage,
And still, I reach for the wires.
Maybe if your mother had stood up to your father,
You’d know love doesn’t have to be a battlefield.
If they couldn’t show you, maybe I can.
Maybe I was meant to be the current
That finally sparks something real.
I’ve studied the patterns, traced every crossed wire,
Tried to be the one who finally gets through.
But it wasn’t until you were drowning in my tears
That you realized the sparks weren’t passion—
They were warning signs.
And still, I stayed.
What a mess they’ve made in here.
But I’ve got steady hands and a heart that refuses to quit.
I’ve stayed up too many nights flipping switches,
Testing circuits, hoping for light.
Because love isn’t just walking away when the lights flicker.
Love is finding the source, fixing the connection,
Standing in the dark and believing the power will hold.
I know a narcissist when I see one,
And against all odds, I still believe in love.
