spooky
Mc came to a halt in front of the strange hole in the wall. It was small, shorter than him in height, enough so that he had to bend down to get a better view. He peered inside, trying to make out any light or movement inside.
Nothing. Not a sound.
Before his eyes, the shape of the entrance started to waver and shake. Looking at it hurt his eyes, so he rubbed at them, hoping that would help.
When he looked back, the entrance had grown. It was taller than him now, soaring more than twice his height and beyond. Vertigo struck him suddenly, and Mc took a stumbling step back.
A light tinkling sound caressed his ears. Whirling around, MC could spot no discernible source.
His skin was beginning to crawl. He toyed with the thought of turning back, but quickly dropped it. There was nowhere for him to go. And regardless, he was hopelessly lost. This was the first thing vaguely resembling civilization he’d seen in ages. Might as well take his chances.
With a deep breath, MC gingerly stepped inside the tunnel, bracing for a creature or person to tackle him and maul him.
Lucky for him, nothing of the sort happened. Instead, something arguably worse.
The entrance disappeared behind him, sending him into pitch black.
