Mother Daughter
“MOM WE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED”
The air blew cold through my hair but didn’t stop the crimson red from fading on my face.
“I know sweetie but there’s nothing we can do now, you need to calm down.”
“CALM DOWN? YOU WANT ME TO CALM DOWN? MY BROTHER, MY BEST FRIEND WAS JUST TAKEN AWAY FROM US AND YOU WANT ME TO CALM DOWN?”
I took a second to catch my breath my face an even darker shade of red than before. I looked back up at my mom.
“Kylie, listen to me,” I tried to interrupt her but she kept speaking “we can’t go blowing up on each other right now alright? We are going to find your brother if it’s the last thing we do. I know how important he is to you, he’s also just as important to me. Besides he wouldn’t want you to react like this would he?”
I sat down beside her gathering my thoughts, I wanted to yell again but she was right Mason wouldn’t want me to react like this.
“Kylie?” My mom looked over at me, I didn’t say anything.
A few minutes passed and I began to realize just how cold it was.
“Can we go inside? It’s freezing.” My mom nodded and we headed towards the door.
