Washed Up Memories

I had everything I wanted.

Don’t you miss it too?

Shards of incomplete,

Foggy memories.

Now lost in the sea of forgotten

Past reminders

Wanting so desperately to put the pieces back

together

To see the reflection of precious moments one last time.

A sea where a young girl used to bathe in

The sea where she would let her father carry her to the scary, deeper side of the ocean

The sea which mom would be to scared to step in

The ocean where we would bathe our long lost pets in

Or the sea where the innocent girl clashed up by the waves and laughing when water entered her nose.

Now, lost in the sea of forgotten memories

I reach my hand out to them but my hand submerged.

And like any other,

This memory will wash away along with all the rest of the sea.
