Barbara, Meet Stacy.

Last Summer, Barbara mentioned visiting the Rocky Mountains, and Phil agreed they would go. A few days later, their friends asked Phil if they wanted to go to Hawaii with them, and he agreed to that, too.

Phil got home and told Barbara that he agreed on going to Hawaii to stay with their friends. Barbara was upset because Phil had promised her that they would go to the Mountains. Phil chose to go to Hawaii anyway and bought both of their plane tickets.

“So much of our money is already going to waste!” Phil wouldn't listen, and just kept doing what he wanted to do with their money.

“Dear. I made a budget at the beginning of the month, and we need to stick with it! It would be cheaper just to visit the Rockies, and next year we can work harder to go to Hawaii.” Barbara side-eyed him.

Phil had already gone way over the budget. He bought activities such as sightseeing, mountain climbing, scuba diving, and more that would cost them tons of money.

Barbara was fed up with Phil's decisions. "You used to ask me what I wanted to do, too! You keep making these ridiculous decisions for yourself, and I'm getting extremely angry! I don't think I can be part of this marriage anymore if you are going to keep doing this to me! I have just as much of a say in everything as you do, Phil! You're being an obnoxious hog, and I can't stand it anymore." Barbara yelled.

"What do you mean, darling? I have made your dreams come true of seeing truly wonderful sights! Aren't you thankful that I gifted you something so magical?" Phil smiled and tilted his head slightly, so you'd think he was the cutest thing alive. That wasn't the case for Barbara.

"Phil, there is no easy way to say this, but-"

"You don't want to go scuba diving? Fine, I will cancel it just for you, my cupcake!" Phil walked away before Barbara could tell him the truth. She wanted a divorce.

The day came for vacation, and Barbara still had not told Phil she wanted a divorce, or at least a really, really long break to sort things out. She was too scared Phil's heart would break from the news.

So, she didn’t tell him.

Barbara and Phil went to the airport dragging their luggage behind them like lazy sloths. “Phil, when does the airplane to Hawaii take off?”

“Um, I think 5 minutes ago.” Phil continued hitting the back of his ankles with the heavy luggage.

“What?! We missed our plane?” Barbara slightly yelled.

“No! The one for the Rocky Mountains takes off in an hour.” Phil smiled.

“Phil! You canceled our trip to Hawaii? For me?” Barbara was going to hug Phil, but a young lady, about 25 years old, tapped him on the shoulder. He saw her, dropped his luggage, and squeezed her in his arms. It seemed like the hug lasted ages.

“Barbara, meet Stacy.” Phil smiled, before he kissed her on the cheek.

“Um, Phil?! Is this your cousin or something? Who is she and why’s she here?” Barbara questioned.

“Oh! She’s my… there’s no easy way to say this… girlfriend.” Phil smiled and made out with Stacy.

“WHAT?!” Barbara screamed. Everyone in the airport looked at her. “HAVE YOU BEEN CHEATING ON ME?!”

“Of course not! Not this whole time! But you just seemed so unappreciative of everything I’ve done for you. I saw Stacy at the coffee shop a few months ago, so we started dating. Then it turned into a growing relationship.”

Barbara cried in pain. By this time, some people were taking their phones out and recording. “Why would you do this to me?! I loved you, Phil! I loved you!”

“Well… you didn’t show it that well. Oh! Also, your tickets were canceled and Stacy’s going with me.”

“We’re still married!” Barbara threw down her luggage. A slight hush fell over the airport, as people started to listen in more.

“Actually, dear, I-“

“DON’T YOU DARE CALL ME DEAR!” Barbara interrupted.

“Okay, well, Barbara, the wedding documents that you signed were fake. I had a feeling this wasn’t going to work out.”

“Because you ended it!” Barbara’s tears streamed down her face as a stranger handed her a tissue.

“Anyway… me and Stacy need to go. Also, can you believe she’s expecting?”

“WHAT?!”

Then Stacy spoke. “Bye bye!”

And they left, forgetting Barbara.
