High Above The City!

Grace just finished her story she wrote when she heard a knock. Grace was 10 and loved to write stories, mainly fantasy. She had just finished writing ‘High Above The City’ which was officially her favorite. It was a fantasy about a young woman get wings by bonding with a dragon. The dragon’s name had made her grin like a maniac. The dragon’s name was Silvo. Silvo was a proud in a funny way, with a big personality. Silvi was known for her kindness to the creatures that she liked. Grace had aqua colored hair that floated as if she was in water, same as her mother, Kiki. She never got messy hair or hair problems. As soon as she heard the knock she growled in protest and swore to annoy her parents to get back at them. She was almost done with her picture for the story. She got up, all the while promising to be the worst possible child. “Grace! What is taking you so long!?” “Growling at you!” She growled loudly back at her mom to prove her point. “Today you get a power! Remember?” Yelled her dad from downstairs. “YOU THINK I COULD FORGET WHRN YOU PRACTICLY SCREAMED ALL ABOUT IT LAST NIGHT?!” She yelled back at her dad. But still, Grace smoothly glided across the floor and out the door because she wanted to get her power and it was outside about a block away. Levitating was another power she got from her mom, she got most of her abilities from her mom. But her dad taught her how to fight with or without a weapon. She was was already dressed for her test; a louse robe and stretchy pants. So her parents, seeing her all dress gave her a sword and two rapiers and she walked to the building with her weapons strapped tightly to her body. She entered dramatically. Grace registered and taken to a magically locked room  room with an orb and  a place for a bond to appear if you are lucky. The guide made her make a promise —that can’t be broken— to not communicate using anything —including writing or hints or anything like that— about the test or her power except to specific people who have special permission. She asked why and the guide smiled and said, “Good job! you passed your first test, but you still can’t talk about the test, that part was real. You _can_ talk about your power and stats but I wouldn’t recommend it.” “Also, you shouldn’t trust anyone. They could be bad or have bad intentions.” “Agreed!” Grace had learned not to trust everyone the hard way. “Now,” the guide chuckled “touch the orb. I don’t have bad intentions and I am not lying, I swear on my life” she looked on his face and at his posture and, seeing no problems, she walked up and touched the orb. She opened her eyes. ‘_I don’t remember closing my eyes_!’ She thought a little alarmed. She soon go distracted by her surroundings. She was underwater but she could breath, ‘_Wow_!’ she thought mouth hanging open. She spun around when she heard a voice “hello! It’s beautiful isn’t it!” “She looked down and saw an adorable baby fox with a slight fluffy but…dry fur. “How is your fur not wet?!” Grace exclaimed, becoming increasingly curious. “Have you seen yourself! You are dry, and I am too. Now let’s bond!” “Let’s see what power you will get!” The fox bounced around with incredible grace and agility, more than any regular fox or baby fox for that matter.  “Love the color of your fur!” Grace couldn’t help but exclaim. The fox had the same fur color as Grace’s hair and soft but sharp eyes and started the bonding process, “Here are my terms for the bond, we can both have make choices own. In other words, I can’t force you to do anything but I can encourage you to not do it or encourage you to do it.”. The fox smiled gratefully and responded, “I agree and I will agree to not make you do things like you said, now say ‘I agree to our terms’ and I will say the same and that will seal the bond.” “Wait! I also want your companionship! And if you agree to what I just said too I will agree.” The baby fox thought for a moment and than smiled “I agree to our terms.” Grace nodded,“I agree to our terms” she felt something flood her system then she was reborn.

Grace woke to a paw batting her nose. “Stop that… she groaned groggily. “Oh good! Your awake…Wow…You look horrible!” Said the fox “Gee thanks,” Grace responded dryly. She got up and looked around and saw she was still inside the underwater realm. “Why am I still here? I thought I would go back to my world. I am assuming this is a different planet.” “Well let’s start with your first question, you are still here ‘cause I need to train you!” ‘_What!_’ Grace thought, confused. Then she remembered the bonding and asked’ “How do I pull up my status?”. the fox sighed dramatically, groaned in exasperation and explained “you say ‘status’, idiot” and grinned. Grace started a list of punishments for the fox’s actions. “You are so very kind!” Grace drawled, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Status” Grace commanded, trying and failing to block out the fox’s laughter that was going to be the death of the world, Grace was worried for her safety. As soon as the word ‘Status’ left her mouth a screen that is only visible to herself and anyone she gave her Status screen to. At least she hoped so. Grace hated her lack of knowledge in this.

Grace stared at the screen and then she jumped for joy. “Now that you have seen your status sheet, let’s start leveling your skills!” The fox “Okay! But…what’s your name?” “Oh my name is Stella.”.  Okay Stella, I am ready!”.

Training started with a exercise warmup which included, laps, push-ups, sit-ups and stretching before and after the exercise routine. Then Grace practiced controlling the elements and keeping them in her control for as long as she could and she worked on the rest of her skills especially the ‘Aquamarine Power’ by the end of the day she was exhausted and had made a decent amount of progress in developing her skills her skills were all at level 5 and she could control Aquamarine for 30 minutes, Lava for 10 minutes, Glow for 20 minutes and midnight for 5 minutes. She slept almost as soon as she created a bed using her skill.

When Grace woke up she was determined to master all her skills this week it earlier. She found she wasn’t hungry or thirsty so she dicided to figure out why later. She stretched for a hour and then exercised like she did yesterday for two hours. After she finished her stretching she practiced her skills for the rest of the day. By the end of the day she had basically mastered ‘Aquamarine’ and she was about halfway towards mastering the rest of the elements she had access to. The next day she got a notification to ‘Evolve’ she asked Stella and she replied, incredulously, “YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO EVOLVE!!!???” She shrieked at the top of her lungs. Grace involuntarily shuddered. “Yes, is that good?!” “YES! You get to choose a form that you can take based on your bond if you have one, which you do!” an random wind ruffled Stella’s fur. Grace waited, unimpressed. “Anyways…you can accend one element which grants incredible benefits to your skill!” Grace looked at the skill now like it would give her infinite gold and help her fox learn respect. “Grace, TAP YES!” Thinking back on the bad things the fox had done, Grace faked considering the pros and cons. “hmmm… give me a while.” It looked like the fox was about to despair. Grace was enjoying every second of it. Finished getting payback, Grace clicked yes. She felt a new sense of Overwhelming Grace and she felt a lot more fluid . And then two somethings popped out of both sides of her head. Then she sensed her floating Aquamarine colored hair grow double the length and a blue glow surround her. Then she got a message, ‘what skill would you like to accend?’ She looked at her skills and quickly decided to accend the ‘Aquamarine Element’. After she tapped she feel a slight chill sink in to here skin and then she felt a Tug to test out her new found power. The chill disappeared almost  as soon as it come. Soon she felt a weird sensation. It was as if someone ha unlocked something inside herself. Which she kind-of had. She felt something twitch on her head and as soon as she wondered what changed, she got a picture of each physical change. She now has extra long hair,  a slight shine to her skin and fox glowing magenta fured ears with a slight shine to it. She now tested her ‘Aquamarine Element’ and she found it was more powerful and it came out smoother and she checked her sheet on how long she could use it for and found that she could do it as long as she wanted and there was no cooldow! “Wow!” Grace gasped, she had never felt better mentally or physically!” “Tell me what happened…OH”  “And I accended my ‘Aquamarine Element’!” “Wait let me check my upgraded special ability. It said: **_you can talk and speak to the water and it can talk to you too! Not only that but you can also create anything out of water and your creations become indistructable. Only you can break it. _**“This is insane!” Grace spoke with obvious awe. Suddenly another thing appeared out of nowhere “A human!” Stella groaned at the same time as Grace spoke “A human!” With clear glee but all the same summoned water without any trouble. The human finally finished appearing and he had his hands up but Stella and Grace both didn’t relax. “Please lower your weapons!” The boy who seemed the same age as Grace, called out. Only once you swear on your life to not harm us will we lower our weapons and we can swear to not hurt you in return.” Grace responded. “I swear on my life not to harm you in any way.” The boy said and Grace and Stella echoed him and then finalized it by all agreeing to the terms. They lowered their weapons (claws: Stella and water: Grace). The boy walked about two feet away from them then he asked “so what powers do you have?” “Why would we tell you?” Grace responded. “I don’t know! I was just curious.” “Okay… I want to test you, do you want to train with us?” Grace asked, “Sure!” “And my name is zeal”. So they trained until sunset. Zeal had a lot of determination and his stats were high so he was making great progress. He enjoyed it so much he asked to join them tomorrow for training. Grace was fine with that and Stella didn’t mind. She just hoped to have a team. Zeal at sunrise exclaimed that he had the ‘Evolve’ option. They had a party that night and the party consisted of exploring the place they had lived in for a while. The coral was bioluminescent so they could see their surroundings. They had walked for about an hour when they saw a clearing and they agreed to set up there. They set up and Grace watched as Zeal tapped yes and as she watched as his hair turned from brown to midnight blue and he got lion ears and he got slightly more muscular and as he finished his evolution. She hugged him and asked if he wanted to join their team. He grinned and excitedly said yes. To test out Zeal’s skill, they sword fought. He was SO much better at sparring, but not better than Grace. “Up ‘till now, Grace hadn’t shown her creation skill. “I am going to show something that I want you to tell no-one about.” “I swear to, in no way, communicate or show what you are about to show me” “what’s your favorite weapon?” “Easy! Rapier!” “Same!”. Focusing for a few seconds Grace created a Aquamarine rapier. “Wow!” Zeal gasped.
