The pentameter form is where each line contains 10 syllables. This gives the poem a unique and recognizable rhythm often found in sonnets.

I’m not a man and I’m not a woman
Why is that so hard for them all to see?
My body and soul are nonbinary
Defined by no externalities
I’ve always been who I’m meant to be
If only they would open up their eyes and see
Me for who I am, me for being me
My body and soul are nonbinary
