I watched the whole scene happen. Chasing. Screams. Cries. Then silence. I was struck with shock and fear and stood in place, tears streaming down my face. I got down low and hid behind a bush, covering my mouth to silence the whimpering. I turned around to check if I was safe and there he stood, two inches away from my face, smiling with blood splattered on his face. “Gotcha.” His words sent shivers down my spine. I felt a dark pit in my stomach, bringing back up the Smores Rachel and I had eaten. Rachel...I loved her so much. I should’ve never insisted we went camping for our 2 year anniversary. Instead of cooking, fishing, stargazing, I watched my girlfriend be stabbed to death by a lunatic in the woods. Reality snapped back to me when I looked up to make out a face. The first thing I noticed was my girlfriends blood splattered on his face. The next thing was his crazed eyes, he looked insane. The third thing I noticed was the instant, burning heat I felt in my gut. I looked down to see a blade then as the world around me started to gray, sickening laughter faded into silence, as I fell into the foliage below me. I’ll see you soon, Rachel.
