Behind My Back
“It was meant to be for you. I only ever wanted it to be for you”, his voice echoed in my head.
We both stood there, only a few centimetres apart. It’s all so still, quiet. The soft wind brushed my ankles. Why did I feel safe? The alleyway was tight, crisp moonlight shown down gently on his dark hair. I pause.
“If it was only meant to be for me, why did you share it with the whole world?”
The gentle wind blows my brunette hair in my face. A hand catches it. Oh my god we are so close. He slowly tucks the hair behind my ear. I stare deeply into his dark, emerald eyes. There’s something about him that I just- can’t quite understand.
He doesn’t respond, and he doesn’t need too.
I’m still holding the knife behind my back.
