STORY STARTER
The day you've been waiting for has finally arrived...
The Start of Her Writing Journey
**I tapped my foot nervously waiting for the clock to strike 8, marking my official first day of college. “Bye mom!! I’m gonna miss you so so much.” I say giving her a hug goodbye. “I’ll miss you so much Riley! Just remember to stay focus on your studies instead of boys, okay?” I’ve never had an interest in boys so I didn’t need to worry about that, I think. I’ve only been interested in reading. “Haha okay mom! Love you! And thanks for packing your most famous and DELICIOUS pie for me!” I say giving her one last hug before I step into campus.**

**Since my mom drove me here, I’m kinda early. Maybe I’ll just go inside. Woah. I didn’t realize how big this school was; The website made it look so small! It smells nice in here too! I should look for my dorm to pass the time.. “Hi! I’d like to know where my dorm is. My name is Riley Ruben.” I say to the school counselor. “Hi Riley! Your dorm will be in dorm 1927 in the west building. I recommend you go there after your literature meeting.” she says helpfully. “Thank you! Hope to see you around. Oh and one more thing, do you know where that meeting takes place?” This is embarrassing. “That meeting will take place in 15 minutes in the east building and your schedule will be handed out there.” It’s so hard to remember locations. “Okay! Thank you so much.” I got 10 minutes left better start heading there. Finally, I found the meeting room. Uhm. Why can’t I open it? I feel so weak! I know this is the right door- “You need a little help there?” Someone says across the hallway. He looks kinda ugly. Oh stop judging people Riley! I wonder if he’s in the same department as me. “It’s a push door by the way.” He says.**

** Well this is embarrassing; My cheeks feel hot.“Ahh. That’s why it’s not opening. Uhm are you in the literature department?” I say opening a surprisingly heavy door. “Yes! My name’s Theo. Theo Rowen, nice too meet you!” That sounds like a little kid’s name. Ugh, I really need to stop judging people! “Ahh!” The wind inside was so strong that I was pushed back. That’s why the door was so hard to open. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry Theo!” There must be a window open in there. “You’re good. I’ll see you around.. what’s your name?” “My name’s Riley.” I say. “Well then, see ya around Riley.”**
