New Home (Emil)

It’s beautiful it really is, abandoned, a fossil of times come before, hopefully that is, I mean as beautiful of an area as I’ve found myself in I think I’d much rather be alone in it than find a small civilisation living in a long buried castle. But maybe that’s just me.

No matter that I still need a place to sleep, and hide, and exist. I need a home and this is about as lucky as I’m ever going to get, I’ll just hope that this thing was built well enough as to not collapse in on me…

Emil walked through the archway with little hesitatince, tracing his finger through the cracks between the old and crooked bricks as he went. It got dark in here a lot sooner than he thought, the doorway providing little to no light more than a few paces into the structure. As a result he didn’t venture far into any rooms, staying loyal to the first corridor, all he finds, as far as he can see in the dark that is, are a few empty rooms with almost decaying tables and seating, a few objects on the floor and on various semi collapsed serfaces. Still he was hesitant to touch any of it, _probably the first smart decision he’s made in a good few weeks. _

He walks back to the entrance (_probably the second smart decision he’s made in a good few weeks) _and sits down in the corner a few metres from the archway.

As the sun starts to set, slipping behind the clouds even before disappearing to the horizon, Emil starts to light a lantern. It only took him a minute of fiddling around with his matches before it’s lit. He sets it down on a small aumbry in the wall, as he leans against the brick he stares down the hallway, “it could be my home” he thought, he say looking at the end of the hall, it was cut off by a staircase leading further down under the earth.
