To build a life

I walk inside to the only place I’ve ever known, front and back, inside and out. But there’s a sadness stuck in me.

As I look around, I feel peace, and yet, a sense of homesickness.

I spent a year exploring the life outside these four walls, and now that it’s all over, I’ve ended up back into the familiarity I knew all too well and missed all too little.

I know I’ll be back out there soon enough, adventuring this world once again,

And until then, I’ll bring some of that world onto these bare walls.

And maybe, in time, this one-bedroom apartment will feel more like life, rather than just a home.
