POEM STARTER

‘If desires are a flame, then I am a wildfire.’
Use this line to inspire a poem or short story.
Desire
If desires are a flame, then I am a wildfire.
For I burn to be with you
Uncontained, untamed, rising ever higher.
It’s not the world I long to consume,
But you.
You sparked me with a single glance,
Now I blaze in a fevered trance.
No gentle ember, no slow ignite
You lit me fully, all at once, alight.
I burn for the curve of your voice in the dark,
For the matchstick thrill of your every spark.
Every breath you take fuels my flame,
And I scorch at the whisper of your name.
I would raze the skies just to touch your skin,
Let the fire tear through everything.
I don’t want calm I want to ache,
To feel you in every breath I take.
And if I burn down all I knew
So be it. I burn for you.
