Include as many or as few elements as you wish.
To Whom I Belong
I have always had a strong pull to the water
Oceans and waves calling my name
But the flames calls have always been more intense, hotter
To stare into the fire for hours on end would bring peace and insanity
As would floating endlessly
They know this
I have always had a strong pull to the water
Oceans and waves calling my name
But the flames calls have always been more intense, hotter
To stare into the fire for hours on end would bring peace and insanity
As would floating endlessly
They know this
They would be happy to claim me
But the earth refuses to release me to their torturous deaths
It wraps vines up my legs
Refusing to unwind until it is sure I am going to stay with him
The wind is my voice of reason
It whispers to me to not fight the vines as I yearn for the waves or the flames that will kill me
It lets the fire travel far enough to see me but not to burn
It pushes the waves back when they dare to get to close
And when the vines get to tight it slips in between so I am not in pain
The fire roars constantly
Let me have her
He is the most violent
The water however she sings to me
Offers a soft lullaby for my slumber in total contrast to her husband
As my father yells my mother sings and my little sibling wraps their arms around me
The wind being my only form of comfort
My protector
She is the one who sees all
The one who provides guidance and keeps me sain
She is quiet, but can be just as loud
She is soft, but she can hold back the waves
She is uncontrollable yet she is in control
And as fire screams for me and water sings to me and the earth pulls at me
It is the wind to whom I belong
The women who grew with me
The one who saw things others didn’t
She has grown to stand up for herself and hold herself back
From being a breeze to controlling a tornado we have grown
I am so proud of the women I have become
