Who Are You?
Who are you?!” She screams at me. I stand there at the door confused and uncertain. I had just got home from work. Or at least I think that’s what she believes. I'm Imprisonable. The one and only superhero that works with the FBI and police force. I lift my hand, “Its okay, Im just Jacy?” I say trying to calm her down. “No, no, WHO ARE YOU?!”. At this point, tears are spilling down her cheeks. “Wha- Who do you think I am Nance? I'm just Jacy!” I say calmly. She stormed back in the house, coming out a second later with my suit. My stupid suit. That was my old one. The one that had gotten ripped. I thought I hid it well though? She shoved it towards me. “ Who. Are. You. ” I sigh. All the ways I thought I could tell her who I am, this was never the option in my mind. I step inside, Gently putting a hand on her shoulder, closing the door behind me. I look in her eyes, the eyes looking back at me with hatred, tears, and sorrow. “Go sit down, let me get changed and I will explain it then, I promise” She glared at me walking away.
I sighed. Taking the last step down. I could see Nancy sitting on the couch, with tears in her eyes, curled up in a ball. I walked in, sitting quietly across from her. She didn’t acknowledge me. “Look, “ I started. “I never wanted to tell you it this way… Not that I was never gonna tell you but I didn’t know how.” I glanced up, she met my eyes, but quickly looked away. “I work for the police and FBI.” there it was out. “Oh don’t be ridiculous, police and the FBI don’t wear skin tight suits with masks.” She said, glaring at me. “No but Imprisonable does…” I say glancing down. It was silent. I could hear her breathing. “B-but why did you keep it a secret?” she whispered. I look at her, thinking of what to say. “Well, I've never told anyone my identity, and not to mention, I did not know what your reaction would be.” I looked at her. She looked at me. “God I feel like a fool now.” She laughed, wiping the tears off. She smiled, switching to sit next to me.
