I can’t remember what happened during the incident. I can barely even remember anything other than the stab of pain in my chest, the ringing in my ears, and the thumping of my failing heart. But the screaming and the chaos around me is etched into my memory. Where am I? At first I see darkness, then it gives way to brightness and a beautiful cityscape bursts into life below me. I realise where I am and my breath catches as I prepare myself for the fall. But I don’t fall. I am flying over my city.
