“I’m sorry” I say

My voice cracking

Pursing my lips

trying to hold back the tears that well up

I look at him

His face of disgust at me

He never truly cared did he

He never showed any love

Never cared enough to talk to me

And never cared enough to comfort me as I apologize on the verge of tears that he would never care to notice

“I’m sorry” She says

Her voice shaking as though holding back a laugh

Her lips pursing as though to stop a small smile from creeping up on her face

Her lies

She never truly cared did she

Never cared enough to notice what I do for her

And never cared enough to show sympathy

even in her apology that is as empty and as shallow as she is
