Sinking

Your eyelids feel heavy

And your body relaxes

Your breathing evens out

And your mind stops racing

You begin to sink

Deeper and deeper

A rock in the water

Nowhere to go but down

The weight of water washes over you

As you drift downward to the bottom

You feel heavy but not with burden, no,

The pressure is comforting, reassuring

The lights dim to nothing

Darker and darker

Ripples of light or movement occur

But you’re almost there

You’ve reached the bottom

And your body’s hit the sand

You’ve gone to sleep

Sinking into slumber
