Time Has Won The Race

Aloft in the sky is where you now lay

It’s at night I can see you, not through the day

You no longer roam the earth with the likes of me

Though as you watch over, I can feel the gaze of thee

Now the sky for me is a mourning place

Between you and time, time has won the race

Connecting a constellation, you’re one little dot

But happiness and wonder is all that you sought

So I know you are happy in the sky tonight

And I’ll watch you all night, till dusk turns to light

Love of mine, I’ll miss you sorely

But now you have a permanent place of glory

The sky full of stars seemed dead and cold

A place once so magical now hurt to behold
