It’s Not Safe

“Shhh”

I press my finger to my lips and halt my team with my left arm raised out, fingers splayed, palm facing them.

Footsteps fall silent.

Heavy breaths fill my ears.

We can feel the gentle trimmers of explosions in the distance.

One after the other.

Boom, boom, boom, BOOM.

I’m thrown into the air, my scream cut short, I land with enough force to loose my breath.

Dirt and pink dust rains down.
