POEM STARTER
Compose a poem that starts with an idiom.
Idioms are common, sometimes metaphorical sayings such as ‘it’s raining cats and dogs’, and ‘love at first sight’. Which idiom will you use to set the theme for your poem?
Balls To The Wall
The grass is greener on the other side,
I don’t know who said that shit, but they lied.
They must have been lost, just walking around ,
Daydreaming all day with their head in the clouds.
Curiosity really does kill the cat.
I know that, for an absolute fact.
I tipped my hat, to whoever said that,
But my heart goes out to that poor little cat.
Don’t let the small things get you pissed,
Don’t have a cow or get your panties in a twist.
Just cool your jets, hold your horses,
Kick back and relax, let life run its courses.
One of these days you’ll see that these things ,
Don’t even amount to a hill of beans .
So don’t cry over spilled milk, just say fuck it.
Go balls to the wall till you kick the bucket.
