The Monster Of Mayoar Strait
Most don’t know,
The stories of the sailors,
Who travelled across the Mayoar Strait,
Because most don’t survive.
But I did.
And whether it be fortunate or not -
You can decide -
I will tell you my story.
Beneath the waves,
Where you cannot see the mainlands,
There lurks a monster,
The Monster of Mayoar Strait.
Most you ask will say it is mere legend,
And will give you some foolish explanation,
But those who have travelled near,
They understand the horrors.
It is large,
Is it is it small.
It is vicious,
It is gentle.
The creature takes many shapes,
It is different for everyone.
It was kind to me,
But to most, not.
For me, it was swirling,
It was still,
It was disturbing,
It was comforting.
It let me live,
I am unsure of what it saw,
Why it let me pass safely,
Safely home.
I did not want to argue,
I did not want to push,
I wanted to leave,
Leave behind the horrors.
