POEM STARTER
Write a series of haikus about the view from your window.
Haikus have a 3-line syllabic structure of 5-7-5. Perhaps your haikus can form a series of changing time, seasons, or different aspects of the view.
Out My Window, Mojave desert 7am Haiku
1. Dawn
My jars of moon water, old Magick
Full of last night, and right now
I’m going to drink the stars.
2. Siesta
Palo verde green
Sticks to your tongue, lingers
Casting shade and glowing green
3. Twilight
Moveable beasts-
Morning climbs these mountains like a child
The gold, reminds me of a silk blouse
The one with the stars stitched into the collar
