the liar

chaos lay in front of the liar, who was finally feeling the guilt and regret for her actions.

she'd just wanted to be accepted. to not be seen as weak and pathetic like some had told her. so she claimed to have defeated those beasts that had haunted her home for centuries. and the townspeople had believed her, causing the defences to be dropped.

with nothing stopping them it wasn't long for the monsters to welcome themselves into the town. like hungry wolves they stumbled quickly on four legs. they were made of crimson fur and gleaming ink black eyes, but their teeth shone brighter as they opened their sneering lips to devour their prey.

the buildings fell like sandcastles as the screams echoed down the streets. helplessly the liar fell to her knees, the guilt in her heart consuming her.

the chaos in her mind was insufferable. she knew her fate would be the same as the rest.
