POEM STARTER
Deep Roots
Write a poem about the importance of roots - it could be physical (like a tree) or metaphorical (like a character's upbringing), or a comparison of both!
Rooted In Christ
The roots of my life form a cross.
Each part of my being points back to the One who created me.
My roots began as He skillfully knitted me in my mother’s womb.
My mother’s whispered prayers started the tinniest roots
And the roots grew deeper and wider with each devotion and sermon.
My roots have anchored me to a faith since childhood
And my root system is intertwined with the roots of other believers.
We all hold bear one another’s burdens and connect each other to a time that is lost.
The time when our root system was first beginning in the Holy Lands
And those first roots grasped for land to hold onto.
