Willow Tree
Under the willow tree we sit,
Beneath its branches, cool and lit,
By the sun's warm, golden rays,
I close my eyes and start to sway.
Your arms around me, pulling me close,
A feeling better than any dose.
The gentle breeze, it whispers low,
And rustles through the leaves that grow,
Above our heads, a canopy,
Of green and gold, so peacefully.
The birds, they sing a lullaby,
And as I listen, I can't deny,
That all at once, I feel so calm,
And soon I'm drifting off to slumber's arms.
The sun, it shines so bright and warm,
But in this moment, I feel no harm,
For in the shade of this old tree,
I'm safe and sound, so peacefully.
I know that you will keep me safe,
With you is who I keep my faith.
And as I dream, I hear the sound,
Of rustling leaves, all around,
And in my heart, I know it's true,
That there's no place I'd rather be than here with you.
