The Girl Who Dreamt Big

It was a wet and miserable as hell day in Liverpool. The faces of the trees were dull and the skies were covered in a coat of grey. Who would want to be in a place so dismal?

After I finished school after a hectic day, I sat down and ate my dinner which was roast pork which sometimes transports me back to when I was little when my primary school chefs made roast dinners every Thursday which contained the most succulent pork joints ever cooked. They were honestly delicious trust me.

After I had my dinner, instead of going to my bedroom where I usually go to relax, I actually decided to sit in the living room where Dad was watching a film about a hooded figure using their sausage-shaped fingers to make strands of lightning fill the magical city they were situated in. I thought I could be that figure one day.

“Tia, how was your food?” Dad asked with a smile. I replied saying I loved it because my dad has always been my rock and the best cook since mum died of Cancer last year. I still miss her because my heart still feels empty after her loss. She was everything to us.

After watching a bit of the movie Dad was watching in our big brown lounge, I walked upstairs to my room and with me being so tired that day, I fell into a deep slumber and this was the start of the story I’m writing now. You’ll be surprised.

When I closed my eyes, I found myself in a raincoat standing on a floor of glass which stretched out before me the moment I closed my eyes. The place had an ice-white sky and all I could smell was the cold air that travelled around the place with ease.

As I walked further into this imaginary world, I suddenly found an old man sitting on a wooden chair about two metres away from where I was standing. The man had a small white beard fixed on his face and his head was down as if Depressikn had taken a huge toll on him.

“Excuse me sir, are you alright?” I asked the man in a soft voice. The msn slowly stood up explaining to me that the universe I am in is trapped in a helix and the universe can only be saved by the use of lightnin.

This sounds similar to the film Dad and I were watching back in the real world. I asked the man if he could tell me how to conjure such magic and he replied saying all I have to do is close my eyes, take a deep breath and outstretch my arms and then electricity from my finger tips will do the dirty work. Sounded strange but seemed to be the only way to save this imagjnary planet.

Without hesitation, I followed the old man’s orders by outstretching my arms, closing my eyes and before I knew it, I heard the sizzling of electricity leave my fingertips as it started to engulf the entire imaginary world the second I opened my eyes. The electricity made the sky brighter, the environment smelling of beautiful roses and the floor feeling like the surface of a gorgeous forest beneath me. I totally felt like a hero.

I all of a sudden found myself back in my bed and I realised that I only had a two hour nap. Not too bad like but I’m so glad that my imagination saved a world thst doesn’t even exist. It changed everything. Truly everything.
