POEM STARTER
Write a poem exploring movement.
Exercise, dance, gesturing, reaching – focus on whatever type of movement you like, but consider the language you can use to portray the action.
Tango-Waltz
Tango-Waltz
It’s the way our breaths mingle
Never shying away from each other
Before our eager lips collide
Our heads tilt such as a révérence
_May I have this dance?_
The kiss mimics a waltz at first
Tender, languid, tentative
Clumsily, but sweetly
We speed up to a tango
_I’m enamored with the way you hold me_
Mischievous tongues interlock as we smile
Our tango-waltz emits flickering embers
Encapsulating our tangled bodies
The world stops so we can keep on spinning
_I want to keep dancing with you_
