Footprints on The Moon

The day of reckoning came. Incomprehensible in the beginning but when we have looked back, we should have seen this coming. We should had been made sure that this would be coming. Chief scientists and our leaders alike should have not underestimated them. The news reel should have not made fun of them. But alas, we did, and they have started to desecrated our land like footprints on their moon and marked it as theirs.

The Moon was her own world. Now, she had been forcibly claimed.

Their suits made them hilarious and their heads peeking out from their helmets made us laugh. When they first came into our world, they had been pointed and sneered at especially with their bulging eyes and puny brains. Little men, little brains, only their luck was on their side. However, it turned out that they were just as bad as us; they had pointed and prodded at us, too. We just did not think that they would take it further.

At first, it had been a trade. Then, a negotiation for resources. The next thing we noticed on their next trip was there was more of them and their suits with their little legs were not so funny after all. We never saw the fat suits, the little men, and the bulging eyes full of astonishment. We saw their mocking smirks before we had been pushed to one corner of our own planet, inside tall fences that would kill us and inside tall buildings that would torture us.

They had their own mothers, fathers, daughters, and brothers, and so did we. But that didn’t matter to them and it wouldn’t matter to us either when we have decided to push them back.
