Used To Be
“I can’t believe you’ve done this to me! We used to be friends!” Marie exclaimed, on the verge of crying.
“Yeah, we’ll that’s over now.” Tiffany smiled, and walked away.
“Why are you abandoning me after all we’ve been thro-“
“Because I can.” Tiffany turned back around and inched forward. “Now shut up and walk away just like your dad did a long time ago. Ha, no wonder you’re such a mess up. You didn’t have anyone to teach you anything. Bye-sies!”
“How can you say that?! Do you have any more empathy? What is your problem?” Marie cried.
As Marie bawled, she hoped no one had heard the obnoxious comment Tiffany made, but when she turned around to stop crying, a group of popular girls were standing there, chewing their gum, wide-eyed.
She turned back around to see the smile on Tiffany’s face fade.
“I’m sorry, Marie-rie. It was just a dare! I didn’t mean to make you cry! Please forgive me.” Tiffany slightly frowned.
Marie’s face shaped into an O. “Well, Tiff. It really seemed like you meant what you said, and I don’t know if I can ever forgive you for that.” Marie wiped away the water that was soon to fall from her eyes. “Now, I’m gonna walk away just like my dad did. Bye-sies!”
